New Partnership with WomenHeart Aims to Inform At-Risk Women about PAD
The PAD Coalition and WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, have developed a multifaceted partnership to inform women about PAD. WomenHeart is the nation’s only patient advocacy organization serving the 44 million American women living with or at risk of heart disease. Together, the two coalitions will:
• Train WomenHeart’s nationwide network of heart disease survivors -- WomenHeart Champions -- to lead group discussions on PAD risk factors, symptoms and treatment at local community support groups and programs.
• Produce the “Women & PAD: What You Need to Know” brochure for use in community activities.
• Produce an online interactive quiz “How Much Do You Know About PAD?” and new Web content targeting women.
• Promote the problem of PAD in women through a national press release and other media activities.
Special thanks to the Bristol-Myers Squibb/Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Partnership for sponsoring this new educational partnership.
